The mystery over Mattia Destro’s future drags on, as Massimo Moratti hints at a Genoa deal and Siena warn “we’re waiting for offers from Juventus, Inter and Roma.”

The striker is co-owned by Genoa and Siena after the Tuscans took up their option to buy 50 per cent of his contract on Thursday.

However, Genoa had already promised Destro to Inter and today President Enrico Preziosi insisted he “will remain at Siena 100 per cent, because he will never go to a club I didn’t agree with. He will never join a side that wasn’t decided by me.”

Inter President Moratti was asked about this pact and would only hint at the answer.

“Have the pacts changed? Ask Preziosi, I don’t know. Do I still hope to get Destro? It’s not that I hope… I am following the market, nothing more.”

The version given by Siena is very different, as they are confident their 50 per cent of Destro’s contract can be sold to anyone who makes the highest bid.

“Juventus, Inter and Roma are great sides, but it takes facts to sign a player,” declared Siena director of sport Stefano Antonelli.

“We are waiting to see how the situation evolves and to receive some concrete offers. So far we have not concluded deals with anyone.

“I think the situation will be clearer in a few days. Destro just wants to play consistently. He is very happy at the interest from such prestigious teams, but he has no preference between them.”
