Two late goals saw Les Bleus overcome Nigeria this afternoon in Brasilia to book their place in the last eight, with the tactician admitting he is pleased with his side’s progress.
“We pushed a lot and we had a lot of chances, especially in the second half,” Deschamps told FIFA’s website. “But all the matches are difficult.
“It’s a strong emotion to be in the top eight teams in the world, this has given us a lot.
“We played well and we were alert against a very athletic Nigeria, but we also had a little bit of luck.
“The title? We’ll see, we’re in the quarter-finals for now.”
