Didier Deschamps was impressed with “a very good start” to the World Cup, as France beat Honduras 3-0.
It was a fiery encounter with Paul Pogba risking a red card for a retaliation foul, Wilson Palacios sent off for Honduras and the first use of goal-line technology.
“We were patient,” the Coach told TF1 after the final whistle.
“We had chances and hit the woodwork twice in the first half. This is a very good start to the tournament.
“France will enjoy this victory, as 3-0 is never easy in the World Cup. It was difficult, as we did good things in the build-up to the World Cup, but it’s always different in competition.
“Pleasure in football is only complete when you have the victory to show for it.”
