There was fury among the Bianconeri faithful when President Andrea Agnelli revealed during a simple shareholders' meeting that “this will be Del Piero's final season with us.”
Many expected a formal announcement with some degree of grandeur, considering he has been their star player for 17 years.
Del Piero has so far refused to comment on the revelation, but was stopped by satirical television show Striscia La Notizia.
