“We had a lot of good chances even before Bologna went down to 10-men,” Del Neri noted, speaking to Sky in the aftermath.
“The team deserved to win the match, even if the goal came right at the end. It’s an important win to work calmly.
“The team produced high-intensity football and we created several good chances. In the end, we probably scored with the most difficult one.
“This goal means a lot on a very important day for Udinese [their 120th birthday], so a goal from our captain was a happy ending.”
Widmer provided the goal, is that another indication that he’ll soon be moving to a bigger side?
“The big teams are waiting. He still has to improve a lot, we have many players who can aspire to big teams.
“He has to improve both in the defensive phase and in attack.”
