Spain Coach Vicente Del Bosque says Italy aren’t just about defence, but are “more direct” than 2012.

Monday sees the Azzurri meet La Roja in the Last 16 of Euro 2016, a repeat of the final from four years ago.

“I’m cautiously optimistic as always,” Del Bosque said, as reported by Rai.

“They have an excellent defence, but also good strikers, wing-backs and midfielders. With [Daniele] De Rossi in that position they have a mobile and flexible back-four.

“Italy aren’t just a team who play defensively though. They’ve changed their midfield, which compared to 2012 is perhaps more direct now.”
