Reports hint that talks for the transfer of Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri to Inter could be completed today, as a decisive meeting is set.

The Nerazzurri have already been attributed with making an official offer for the player, though the deal may be complicated by Liverpool's putative agreement over a transfer.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, today Inter directors Marco Fassone, Piero Ausilio and potentially Michael Bolingbroke will be meeting with Matthias Sammer and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge from Bayern Munich, with a view to closing the deal.

The two clubs allegedly have a difference of €2m between offer and demand, but the Gazzetta believes it is unlikely that this will compromise the operation. The player himself would be making €2.75m a year in terms apparently already agreed with the Nerazzurri.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's chances may be dimming as the player's preference reportedly continues to lean strongly towards the Italian club.
