Cardiff City will today meet with Gary Medel’s agent to understand their position on Inter’s latest round of negotiations for the player.

The Nerazzurri have emerged in recent weeks as in talks for the Chile international, with the midfielder seen as pressing for the move too.

However, speculation has been that negotiations with Cardiff have stalled over valuation, with the Championship side asking for a sale at between €9m and €10m, and Inter pushing for an initial loan deal with a purchase option of €7m.

The Gazzetta dello Sport understand that key to understanding the latest position of the Welsh club will be a meeting apparently due today with Medel’s agent, Fernando Felicevich.

It is believed that if this summit is positive, then by next Tuesday Inter director Piero Ausilio could fly out to the UK to close on the deal.

Speculation is that Cardiff are willing to drop their asking price to €7.5m.
