Roberto De Zerbi still believes Benevento can avoid relegation and is targeting January signings to help him.

Le Streghe were handed yet another Serie A defeat this afternoon, meaning they have just a solitary point after 16 games of the season.

Despite already being 10 points shy of safety, the former Palermo boss still thinks his side can escape the drop if they sign experienced players next month.

“We conceded goals immediately and that didn’t help us,” De Zerbi said of today’s 2-0 defeat at Udinese.

“We made too many mistakes in front of the opponent’s goal, but we concede too easily.

“I believe we can stay up, I believe a lot. But we need to get several wins in a row.

“We need to keep going until January, when with the transfer market we will have the chance to sign players with experience.”
