Roberto De Zerbi and Christian Stellini were both sent off after 60 minutes of the Premier League clash between Tottenham and Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

A number of members of coaching staff from both sides came together on the edge of the Brighton technical area after a series of arguments during the first hour of play in North London.

Brighton coach De Zerbi found himself in the middle of the arguing members of staff, many of whom were pushing and shoving each other during the incident.

Meanwhile Tottenham’s Stellini took a less involved approach and stood on the edge of his own technical area continuing to watch the game that was unfolding in front of him.

The two coaches had been involved in what looked like a heated discussion a few moments prior to kick-off, during which De Zerbi lifted his finger in a slightly confrontational manner.

Referee Stuart Atwell decided to show red cards to both head coaches, despite Stellini’s apparent lack of involvement during the second incident.

The score stood at 1-1 at the time of the sendings off after Son Heung-min’s 10th minute opener was cancelled out by Lewis Dunk on 34 minutes.

Tottenham currently lead 2-1 after Harry Kane added the third goal of the game on 79 minutes.
