“We can learn a lot from this game and there is a great deal to improve.

“It’s a different system first of all, we need to get used to the style of playing. He’s very clear on what he wants to do and we are looking every day to get better.”

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed Conte and Paul Pogba chatting behind De Vrij during the interview, both covering their mouths to prevent anyone lip-reading the conversation.
