"From a tactical point of view, Parma had made the game develop in a way that they know how to succeed," said Sinisa Mihajlovic's assistant in a press conference.
"We found it very difficult to exploit any space in behind their defence. But I also think that we didn't move the ball around with any real speed and in our manoeuvres."
It was an emotional week for the Rossoblu, as coach Mihajlovic was released from hospital after going through a third course of chemotherapy, and also had a bone marrow transplant.
Although he attended a couple of training sessions, the tactician was resting at home during the game itself.
"The coach adds value to our group, that much is clear. However, we can't depend on his presence or absence, because then we have an alibi. Our players have the quality to do more, but of course we are pleased that Sinisa is back with us."
De Leo was asked if he and the coaching staff would like to return to their normal roles.
"We are here out of respect for the coach and for the club. We [the coaching staff] have all had experience on the field, but it was inevitable for us. When we return to normality, I hope that the work done here so far can bear fruit."
