“I do not feel betrayed by the defence or the team. We just fell apart too quickly after Torino’s opening goal,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The fans played their part and we did not. My fear that this game had too much pressure and importance proved to be correct.

“I don’t know if this game changes anything for the future, you’d have to ask the President. I try to do my best and we sum things up at the end of the season.

“I am focused on ending my campaign as well as possible, then we’ll see for the future.

“It’s better that we secure safety as soon as possible, which is what we had intended to do today… We’ll see what happens, but in any case we’ve got a good chance of survival regardless of tomorrow’s results.

“I hope Udinese can learn from this, as we must always fight to the end.”
