Udinese Coach Gigi De Canio is being tipped to take over at Blackburn Rovers next season.

It would not be a new experience for the tactician, who was already at the helm of QPR in the Championship from October 2007 to May 2008.

TalkSport claim the 58-year-old is one of the contenders to lead Blackburn Rovers after Paul Lambert walked away.

De Canio only arrived at Udinese in mid-March and helped secure their Serie A safety despite a pretty poor record of two wins, three draws and three defeats.

That included a humiliating 5-1 home loss to Torino, but other results went their way.

Before coming to Udinese, De Canio had been out of work for two years, having been sacked by Catania in January 2014.
