Under-pressure Inter Coach Frank de Boer shrugs “I’m just focused on Torino” and notes “Inter haven’t won for five years”.

The former Ajax boss has lost six of his first 12 games on the Nerazzurri bench, and reports are growing that he’ll be sacked regardless of what happens in the Torino game tomorrow.

“It’s always like this, I’m a bit tired of talking about these things,” De Boer sighed in his pre-match Press conference.

“I don’t need this situation, all that counts is the players and the team. All I care about is how we can change this period, it’s very difficult for me and for Inter.

“We all need to stick together to change this situation. We’re working as well always to, I think it’s just a matter of time.

“I know it’s difficult because there isn’t much time in football but that’s how it is, I’m just staying focused on Torino, that’s all I can do.

“We started a project knowing it wasn’t easy. Inter haven’t won in the last five years, there’s a reason for that and we need to change.

“The Suning owners knew this and accepted it, with great faith in doing the best for Inter. That’s important for me, because when we started this project we knew the difficulties.

“The directors are always here, we always talk on and off the pitch and they’re very available. They have their opinion, just as everyone is entitled to their own and there’s no problem.

“I feel the confidence of Suning, it’s very important for me and the team. We all have confidence in this project.”

Is De Boer still confident he has the support of the players? The loss to Atalanta wouldn’t back that up…

“The first half against Atalanta was the worst since I came here, I was angry with the players because they weren’t the ones I know.

“We changed our attitude in the second half, and I could see the players had more confidence on the ball. We did much better after scoring, and Inter was the only team which tried to win.

“It’s always very difficult for Inter in Bergamo. I wasn’t happy with the first half, we all want to see an Inter like at the start of the project.

“The dressing room is 100 per cent with me, I have great confidence in the squad but we know we have to improve on recent games.

“I’m confident, we’ve only played one very bad game.”
