Frank de Boer admits he feels “a little more stable” on the Inter bench after a 2-1 victory over Torino.

The Coach was hanging by a thread after three consecutive Serie A defeats, but Mauro Icardi’s brace secured the win at San Siro.

“It’s normal that after three straight defeats, you need to win,” De Boer told Mediaset Premium.

“I am very proud of my players and want to see this attitude all the time. We only allowed Torino two or three chances and those were from our mistakes.

“The support of the club is very important, but it all begins from the attitude of the team. We must not just play like this tonight, but always, including against Sampdoria and Southampton.

“I have a lot of faith in the squad and the fans also supported us tonight, so I am very happy.”

De Boer was asked if his situation was more stable now.

“A little. We must still keep winning, but for me it is also important how you win. Today I saw a team that I really like and it was a step forward, but against Sampdoria I don’t want a step back.”

Icardi ended his goal drought with a brace and won over at least some of the supporters following a row over his autobiography.

“He is a fantastic player who always set the example for the team. We know there is this thing about the book, but in training and during matches he always gave 100 per cent.”
