Albania Coach Gianni De Biasi urges Italy to do his side a favour by beating Ireland on Wednesday.

Last night’s win over Romania saw the Albanians finish in third-place in Group A, giving them the possibility of advancing to the Last 16 as one of the best runners-up.

However, if the Republic of Ireland beat the nation of De Biasi’s birth on Wednesday, they will have four points to Albania’s three, as would Sweden if they beat Belgium.

“Will I call Conte to help out Albania?” De Biasi considered on Radio 24.

“Will I call Conte to help out Albania?” De Biasi considered on Radio 24.

“Give me the number, I’ll call him now! These three points could even be enough to make it to the second round.

“Whatever happens we’ve had a great Euros, with three very good performances. Ironically, we had fewer chances yesterday than in the other games, we suffered a bit from the pressure on us.

“Last night we got rid of that pressure. We have the capacity to know our limits, that’s our greatest strength in this competition.”

De Biasi also took a swipe at hosts France, who beat his side 2-0 with two goals in extra-time.

“In my opinion, they’re not a team. They have great players, but they can’t take that group and form it into a team.

“France give a lot of chances to their opponents, we had a lot against them too.”
