Genoa will have their final appeal to receive a UEFA licence on June 3, as they risk being excluded from the Europa League.

There were a couple of issues with the paperwork, primarily the failure to register a home stadium that was up to the UEFA code.

City rivals Sampdoria also share the Stadio Luigi Ferraris – known commonly as Marassi – but they named Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium for their home fixtures.

Genoa have already lost two appeals and the third will be held at the CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) on June 3 at 15.00 UK time (14.00 GMT).

It had initially been planned for this Thursday, but had to be postponed when Genoa’s ‘referee’ in the process Carlo Bottari did not turn up.

If Genoa fail again, then their Europa League spot will go to the next team down in the table – which right now is Sampdoria.
