Manchester United could reportedly renew Matteo Darmian’s contract, allowing Inter to take him on loan with an option to buy.

The Nerazzurri are looking to sign a right-back this summer, but Atletico Madrid don’t want to sell Sime Vrsaljko.

Davide Zappacosta is another option, but it remains to be seen whether incoming Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will want to keep the former Torino man.

That leaves Darmian, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that there’s a clause in the Italian’s contract which could help the Beneamata.

Inter will only do a deal based on a loan with option to buy, but given the defender’s contract expires on June 30 that would appear to be impossible.

However, Gazzetta believes there is an option for United to trigger a one-year extension to Darmian’s deal, which would then allow them to loan him to the Nerazzurri.
