Napoli have reportedly agreed the terms of a contract with Kevin Danso and are now working on reaching a deal with RC Lens, reports detail.

The Partenopei lost star defender Kim Min-Jae to Bayern Munich this month, selling the Korean for around €50m. He played a key role in their Scudetto success last season and his departure leaves a gaping hole in Rudi Garcia’s squad.

Napoli have considered a number of possible replacements, ranging from Giorgio Scalvini to Max Kilman, but one player in particular is a favourite of Garcia’s.

Giovanni Annunziata of Calciomercato.com details how Napoli have been in close contact with Danso’s agents and agreed a contract in principle with the defender, who is keen on the move.

Now the Partenopei need to find an agreement with Lens, who are not keen to lose one of the strongest defenders in Ligue 1.

French outlet Footmercato suggests that Danso’s contract renewal with Lens has been cancelled, making a deal more accessible for Napoli. He is expected to cost no less than €30m.
