Danilo says Juventus are well aware of how important today’s trip to Atalanta is for their season and that they have been ‘too wasteful’ in front of goal lately.
It kicks off at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo at 11.30 UK time (10.30 GMT).
“These are three very important points for our objective and we are aware it is practically a head-to-head that would allow us to be more relaxed going forward,” Danilo told DAZN.
“We know that winning today would put us in a strong position.”
A victory would allow the Turin giants to leapfrog Lazio into second place, whereas Atalanta could cram five teams into a three-point radius.
The Bianconeri ended their disappointing run of Serie A results with a hard-fought win over Lecce, but it was again far from a convincing performance.
“We are aware that we were too wasteful against Lecce, because if you don’t take your chances, you leave yourself open to conceding out of nowhere.”
Juventus will face Sevilla in the Europa League semi-final on Thursday and are in an increasingly tough battle for the top four.
It also remains to be seen whether the Old Lady will have the 15-point penalty confirmed in the new trial or a different number of points docked over the capital gains scandal.
