Danilo underlined his belief in the Juventus project after their tough start to the season, remaining confident despite the initial struggles.
The Bianconeri have not started the campaign well under Massimiliano Allegri, only picking up two wins from their first seven Serie A outings. Things haven’t been more positive in Europe, with the team losing their first two group games against Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica.
Pressure is starting to mount in Turin and the next month will be crucial for Juventus ahead of the World Cup break.
Speaking to journalist Andersinho Marques after Brazil’s 5-1 win over Tunisia, Danilo discussed Juventus’ current situation and his belief in the club’s chances.
“The squad is well, the team shows chemistry and it shows on the pitch, we don’t know what will happen but we are on the right path to do well. You have become a leader at Juventus. My goal is to get Juventus back to where they deserve to be.
“We know there are a lot of doubts at the moment but we’re aware that we have a lot of quality to become a top team. Then we have to keep quiet and work from tomorrow onwards.”
The 31-year-old Danilo is a core part of Allegri’s squad in Turin and he’s featured in every game so far this season, starting in all but one of the matches. His tactical flexibility makes him a useful option and he’s on track to receive a slightly longer contract as a result of this.
