It’s widely believed he decided to be a no-show after learning former Real Madrid teammate and Croatia international Luka Modric had won the award for Champions League Player of the Year.
“Ronaldo is selfish and I’d never want him in my team,” Croatia tactician Dalic told Sportske Novosti.
“He’s the kind of player who thinks ‘even if we lose, the only thing that matters is that I scored a great goal.’”
