Reports in France state that Inter full-back Dalbert could return to Ligue 1, joining Monaco on loan with an option to buy.

The Brazilian was involved in a protracted transfer saga last summer, eventually joining the Nerazzurri from Nice for around €20m.

However, the 24-year-old struggled to convince Coach Luciano Spalletti, and made just five Serie a starts all season.

Now Le10Sport have joined L'Équipe in reporting that talks are underway to take him to Monaco, and a deal could be closed in the next week for a loan with option to buy.

Marseille appear to have cooled on the idea of signing him, while Borussia Dortmund are undecided between him and Ricardo Rodriguez.

New Dortmund Coach Lucien Favre got the best out of Dalbert at Nice, but it appears Monaco may have beaten the German side to the signing.
