Juan Cuadrado is “locked down” to his new Fiorentina contract, confirmed Executive President Mario Cognini.

The Colombian international put pen to paper on a new deal on Friday evening, signing on with the club until June 2019.

“Is Cuadrado locked down? Yes, he is a player that is in our plans and always has been from the day we first bought him from Udinese,” said Cognini.

There are reports the contract includes a buy-out clause worth €35m and wages for an initial €2.5m per season, increasing every year.

“Fiorentina have now become a club that players are ambitious to join and those who remain in the Viola jersey do so because they really want to.

“Our club has nothing to prove to players, as we’ve already shown in recent years that we have a project aimed at growth for many seasons to come.”
