Juan Cuadrado insists Juventus ‘believed right until the end’ of their thrilling 3-2 win over Inter last night.

With less than five minutes remaining of the Derby d’Italia, the Old Lady were 2-1 down to the Nerazzurri – knowing that anything less than a win would hand the advantage to Napoli in the race for the Scudetto.

However, Colombian winger Cuadrado squeezed home a tight finish to equalise before Gonzalo Higuain headed home a free-kick to salvage a critical three points for Max Allegri’s team.

“That goal was definitely worth a lot,” Cuadrado said when asked about the importance of his strike.

“It gave us the push to look to win and I am very happy that we got the result in the end.

“After it was 1-0, Inter got the equaliser through a set-piece and they took encouragement.

“But we were calm, we believed and we believed right until the end. In the end, we got the result.”

Despite Juve’s dramatic win, Cuadrado believes his side need to improve – particularly in the way they defend set plays.

“In recent matches we have conceded three or four goals from set-pieces, we need to look to keep improving.”
