Milan will be without Riccardo Montolivo for around six months, as he’s suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
The midfielder was stretched off during the draw with Spain last night, coming off worse in a challenge with Sergio Ramos.
“AC Milan announces that, during last night’s match with the Italian National team, Riccardo Montolivo suffered an injury to his left knee anterior cruciate ligament,” a statement from the Rossoneri reads.
“Due to the extent of the injury, the player needs to undergo surgery.”

The injury could well see the Diavolo captain sidelined for the rest of the season, as a cruciate ligament injury usually takes at least six months to heal.
