A leaked audio clip emerged on Thursday of Criscito claiming Ballardini had angered Enrico Preziosi by asking how the Genoa President would line the team up.
However, Criscito clarified to Il Secolo XIX: “It’s a message I sent to my fantasy football friends, explaining what had happened.

However, Criscito clarified to Il Secolo XIX: “It’s a message I sent to my fantasy football friends, explaining what had happened.
“Someone then spun it, but my teammates have nothing to do with it. The message was not addressed to them.
“The dressing room is united and I can’t let it be said that we were against Ballardini because it’s a serious and false accusation. Enough dirt has been thrown Genoa’s way.
“We’re sad about what happened to Ballardini and we’re grateful to him, but now we’re thinking about the present and Juric.”
