Serie A has been given the restart date of June 20, beginning with the outstanding Week 25 fixtures so that all the teams can get back on to the same number of games played.

“It’s going to be more difficult in the heat, but I’ve played at -10 degrees Centigrade in Russia and it wasn’t a problem,” former Zenit St Petersburg defender Criscito told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’re so eager to get back out there and pick up where we left off in March. I don’t believe we’ll be penalised by the interruption to the season.”

Genoa had been on fine form under third coach of the campaign Davide Nicola, winning three of their last four matches to scramble out of the relegation zone.

“We know that we’d been playing some great performances before the lockdown, but we have to treat the remaining 12 matches as Finals. We always believed that Genoa would stay in Serie A and we’ll continue believing to the end.”
