Domenico Criscito’s agent hit back at “ex-Venezia Coach” Cesare Prandelli for the World Cup snub.

The Zenit defender was surprisingly left out of Italy’s 30-man provisional squad for the tournament in Brazil.

Prandelli defended his decision this week, insisting “with all due respect, it’s not as if I left behind Antonio Cabrini or Paolo Maldini.”

Agent Claudio Pasqualin went on Tuttomercatoweb to give a barbed response.

“Mimmo will have to get over it and maybe, imitating Prandelli’s unpleasant sarcasm, console himself with the knowledge he was left behind by – with all due respect – the ex-Venezia Coach and not Vittorio Pozzo or Enzo Bearzot.”

Pozzo was the Coach in charge of Italy for their first two World Cup triumphs in 1934 and 1938, while Bearzot was on the bench for the 1982 tournament.
