There were 99 new coronavirus deaths in Italy on Monday – the lowest daily figure since the lockdown began on March 9.

In more good news, the northern province of Piacenza reported no new deaths in 24 hours for the first time, having already lost 933 of its residents to the contagion.

As of Monday, there have been 225,886 positive tests of COVID-19 (+451), with 66,553 of them currently active (-1,798).

A total of 127,326 people have recovered (+2,150) and 32,007 have died.

Out of the 66,553 active cases, 55,597 are in self-isolation (+1,681), 10,207 are in hospital with symptoms (-104) and 749 are in intensive care (-13).

There have now been 3,041,366 tests, an increase of 36,406 since yesterday.
