Andrea Cossu's agent has strongly rebuked talk of a move to Watford for the Cagliari playmaker.

The English club recently came under the ownership of the Pozzo family, who already run Udinese” data-scaytid=”5″>Udinese in Serie A and Granada in La Liga

The Hornets now have Italian owners, an Italian Coach in Gianfranco Zola, an Italian sporting director – Gianluca Nani – and are being linked with a host of Italian players.

Cossu's agent Fulvio Marrucco has, however, made it clear that his client will not be one of those joining the revolution at Vicarage Road.

“I do not understand how they can jump out with certain items based on nothing,” Marrucco stormed in an interview with Sportal.

“Cossu is Cagliari, he is a fan of the club and for him it is a dream to wear the red and blue shirt. Not to mention that he still has two years left on his contract…”

Cossu is a 32-year-old attacking midfielder who was the top assist provider in Serie A the season before last.

Speculation linking him with a club coached by Zola is perhaps inevitable as the two share so much in common, from their birthplace – Sardinia – to their playing style to their love for Cagliari.
