The Tuscans were beaten 4-2 by Cagliari midweek and remain rooted to the bottom of the table, putting Cosmi’s position at risk.

“Over the last few days we have tried to understand what happened in that black-out in Cagliari. We need an important result to begin again and try to shake off some of the anger and disappointment from our fans.

“The team is aware that in Cagliari it was their worst performance of the year, the only game they got completely and utterly wrong this season.

“I think it was just a stumble and we are ready to get back on track straight away.”

Gaetano D’Agostino is again unavailable along with Alessandro Rosina, Ribair Rodriguez, Matias Martinez and the suspended Felipe and Neto.

Siena squad for Genoa: Campagnolo, Farelli, Pegolo, Angelo, Contini, Del Grosso, Dellafiore, Paci, Rubin, Bolzoni, Coppola, Mannini, Sestu, Valiani, Vergassola, Verre, Bogdani, Calaiò, Reginaldo, Eduardo
