“Lazio had a dream, to get back into the Champions League,” Correa told Lazio Style Channel and Sky Sport Italia.
“We are eager to do well, especially after the ugly defeat on Saturday and this is the perfect opportunity to put in a great performance.
“The Champions League is the toughest competition in the world, it’s packed with talented players. Lazio must get back to playing the football we showed last year, before the lockdown.
“We fought so hard to get here and now we want to face every test like a real team. This match is fundamental to start the group on the right foot.”
It is the first time in the Champions League for many of the Biancocelesti players.
“Simone Inzaghi knows this tournament well and still holds the record as Lazio’s top scorer in the competition. It’ll be a special debut, we’ve been waiting for this moment since last season, when we thought that without the lockdown and COVID, we could’ve won the Scudetto.”
