The coronavirus pandemic continues to ease in Italy, with 464 deaths over 24 hours, but new cases, hospitalisations and intensive care admissions keep falling.

The latest Government figures for April 23 confirm another 464 people have died from COVID-19 related conditions, taking the total since the crisis began to 25,549.

All the other numbers are plummeting, as since yesterday another 3,033 patients were given the all-clear.

There were 117 who left intensive care, leaving only 2,267 still requiring more extreme forms of treatment.

There were 117 who left intensive care, leaving only 2,267 still requiring more extreme forms of treatment.

The number of people currently COVID-19 positive in Italy fell by 851 over the last 24 hours to 106,848.

More importantly, 934 left hospital (down to 22,871) and there are 81,710 people currently self-isolating with minor symptoms.

A massive 66,658 tests were performed since yesterday in the country.

Lombardy also seems to be stabilising, with 200 deaths since Wednesday, 500 leaving hospital and 27 moving out of intensive care.
