Italy experienced more big drops in hospitalisations from coronavirus on Friday, with more than 1,000 patients sent home.

Although there was an increase in COVID-19 deaths (+575 compared to +525), 1,107 patients showing symptoms have been discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours.

Furthermore, there are 124 more intensive-care beds available in Italian hospitals, serving as further proof that the country’s curve is flattening.

Although there was an increase in COVID-19 deaths (+575 compared to +525), 1,107 patients showing symptoms have been discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours.

Furthermore, there are 124 more intensive-care beds available in Italian hospitals, serving as further proof that the country’s curve is flattening.

As of Friday, there have been 172,434 positive tests of COVID-19 (+3,493), with 106,962 of them currently active (+355).

A total of 42,727 people have recovered (+2,563) and 22,745 have died.

Out of the 106,962 active cases, 78,364 are in self-isolation (+1,586), 25,786 are in hospital with symptoms (-1,107) and 2,812 are in intensive care (-124).

There have now been 1,244,108 tests, an increase of 65,705 since yesterday.
