Chievo boss Eugenio Corini has hailed Fiorentina as 'the best footballing side in Italy' ahead of their meeting this Sunday.

The Flying Donkeys host the Viola this weekend, and the recently appointed Coach has admitted that his team will do well to come out on top at Stadio Bentegodi.

“We have to try and stop Fiorentina,” he told Radio Toscana. “Because at the moment, they are playing the best football in Italy.

“To win, we have to think of our own game first, and then theirs.”

He also praised the Tuscan side's Coach Vincenzo Montella, calling him 'amazing'.

“We attended some coaching courses together,” he said. “And Montella amazed me. He showed great desire and determination to do the technical side of the game correctly.”

The 42-year-old concluded by remarking on his appointment as boss of the Gialloblu, a club he knows well having played for them between 1998 and 2003.

“Football is my passion and for me to become a Coach was a natural step in my career. Chievo was a familiar place and I am feeling really good here.”
