Corini’s side lost their last match in a 2-0 defeat against Sassuolo, and maintains that the side lack something.
“In my time as coach here we’ve always been in games, but we’ve missed something in the final area of the pitch. However the team have always been alive in matches. We have to be more productive,” said Corini in his press conference.
The Gialloblu have one of the best defensive records in Serie A, and Corini knows that not only have they been difficult to break down, but also fresher, given how Sassuolo played in midweek.
“Parma are a solid team, they read games very well. They manage to counter-attack with speed and quality. In the last five minutes against Napoli they had two chances, and scored one of them.
“We know we’ll face an experienced team. Their players have also had a week to recover, we’ve only had four days, but enough for us.”
Since returning to the Brescia bench, Corini has played Mario Balotelli and Ernesto Torregrossa together, and they’ve won two games from four, will he continue with that front pairing?
“That is the idea. We will evaluate them physically to see if they are fine. However don’t forget about Alfredo Donnarumma.
“Mario scored the decisive goal in Ferrara, and Torregrossa scored against Lecce. The effectiveness is there.”
