New Sampdoria signing Andrea Ranocchia signed because of the “enthusiasm” of President Massimo Ferrero.
The defender has joined on loan from Inter until the end of the season, and had his first training session with the Blucerchiati this afternoon.
“This is a great group,” Ranocchia told Samp TV.
“It’s definitely worthy of a different position than the current one. I know a lot of the lads.

“I’ve already played with some of them, for example [Angelo] Palombo and [Emiliano] Viviano, and in recent days they bombarded me with phonecalls and couldn't wait for me to arrive in Genoa.
“Others I met with the national team and and I hope to integrate quickly and make my contirbution.
“I accepted Sampdoria’s offer because of the enthusiasm of President Ferrero and the trust of Coach [Vincenzo] Montella.
“I’m glad to be here, I can’t wait to get on the pitch and repay everyone’s faith.”
