The Azzurri boss met with Serie A Coaches yesterday in order to try to agree more time for Italy get-togethers, and warns that clubs and the national team must work together for the good of calcio.

“It’s very, very important [to work together],” Conte told Rai Sport.

“We’ve hit rock bottom, but I wouldn’t say that it’s over – we can still dig.

“Good intentions? People often talk nonsense, there are few who follow through on those intentions.

“There’s a desire to build something important.

“We need to have an agreement, because while the clubs are important, the national team is important too. The national team belongs to everyone, we can’t forget that.

“I’m someone who likes to deal in facts, or even better, actions.

“I’m pursuing goals that affect everyone, I’m used to thinking about ‘us’ not just ‘me’.

“Successes are built together, as a team.”
