Inter are preparing to face Sampdoria in their return to Serie A and Conte has claimed the stop gave him a chance to look closer at what he needs to improve.

“If I have to find a positive side with the crisis, it’s that it gave me time to focus and look for aspects to improve Inter,” Conte said, according to news agency ANSA. “I always ask them to raise the bar, I’m never satisfied.

“I had the opportunity to review the first seven months, dive deep into the squad, find the negative and the positive things.”

Conte looks forward to resume on Sunday but revealed he hopes the spectators can ‘soon return’ to the stands.

“It’s limply football without the fans, we face the emergency hoping the fans will soon return.”
