The pair won three Scudetti together at Juventus between 2011 and 2014, while the newspaper speaks of ‘a good relationship’ between Inter and Barca.

The Catalans would be prepared to sell the Chilean for €20-22m, but it is warned the Nerazzurri only have until mid-July to agree a deal so a replacement can be found in good time.

The 32-year-old would replace Radja Nainggolan, whose likeliest destination is China and specifically – as per La Gazzetta – the Beneamata’s sister club Jiangsu Suning.

His arrival would also not come at the expense of Nicolo Barella after Roma pulled themselves out of the running.
