Inter boss Antonio Conte has joined the fight against coronavirus, buying 12 laptops for student medics in Turin.

Conte delivered the devices to Regina Margherita children’s hospital on Friday, with faculty leader Tiziana Catenazzo calling the gesture “an unexpected gift”.

“We talked to him and his wife Elizabeth the day before, to tell them about the difficulties of neuropsychiatry.

“Due to the coronavirus emergency, the hospitalised students in child neuropsychiatry were left without teachers, mobile phones and laptops for distance teaching.

“With this gift, we’ll at least be able to re-establish a minimal relationship with them, which is even more precious at a time like this.

“It’s a gesture we appreciate very much. The absence of a proper school causes huge discomfort to hospitalised students as education forms an integral part of therapeutic protocol.”

The 50-year-old remains a Juve legend, despite his now-allegiance to Inter, winning Scudetti with them as both a player and coach. His wife, Elisabetta Muscarello, is also a Turin native.

As it stands, Piedmont – where Turin is located – is the region fourth hardest-hit by the pandemic in Italy.
