It’s thought the FIGC is considering Antonio Conte, Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Mancini for the position of Italy CT.

The role has been vacant since Giampiero Ventura’s sacking, and finding a replacement has been complicated by the fact there is no FIGC President.

However, the budget for 2018 was approved yesterday, and La Stampa reports that €5m has been set aside to pay the new Coach.

Between the three candidates for the Presidency, Damiano Tommasi, Gabriele Gravina and Cosimo Sibilia, there are three names in the frame for the job.

Between the three candidates for the Presidency, Damiano Tommasi, Gabriele Gravina and Cosimo Sibilia, there are three names in the frame for the job.

The first is Ancelotti, who is currently free after being sacked by Bayern Munich and is backed by Tommasi.

However, he has previously stated that he still wants to work in club management, and has been linked with a return to Chelsea.

Gravina and Sibilia both back the return of Conte, who impressed when leading the Azzurri at Euro 2016, and is expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

That said, when he was previously Italy CT the Coach grew frustrated at a lack of time with the players.

The third name is that of Roberto Mancini, who is currently at Zenit St Petersburg and said just last night that he would consider the role.
