Martin Montoya’s ill-fated spell at Inter is over, as he’s returned to Spain with Real Betis.

The full-back joined the Nerazzurri a two-year loan from Barcelona this summer, but has failed to break into Roberto Mancini’s side.

The 24-year-old made just three Serie A appearances, the last of which was a 1-1 draw against Carpi in which he was substituted after 74 minutes.

“Martín Montoya Torralbo (Viladecans, Barcelona, 14th of April 1991) started his career in the lower categories of FC Barcelona, and he went up the ladder in all the Academy teams. He made his debut with the first team in the season 2010-2011, and played 67 matches in total. He was transferred on loan to FC Internazionale Milano in the summer 2015. After a spell in the Italian team, he has joined Real Betis during the winter transfer window.

“He has been capped with Spain national team U16, U17, U19, and U21.

“During his career, he has won three Spanish league titles, Copa del Rey twice and two Spanish Supercups. At international level, he has been U17 European champion, and twice U21 European Champion.”
