And Spanish newspaper AS believe that the 26-year-old could well miss the rest of the tournament, with initial reports claiming that the injury may take four weeks to heal.

Hugo Almeida meanwhile, was also taken off in the game in Salvador yesterday, but his thigh strain is expected to see him back in 10 days’ time.
