Milan will make a move for Aston Villa’s Carney Chukwuemeka if they fail in their bid to sign Renato Sanches from Lille, according to reports in Italy.

Sanches has been one of Milan’s main targets since the start of the transfer window but interest from Paris Saint-Germain has complicated things and reports suggest they are likely to miss out.

And Calciomercato.com report they will turn to Villa’s 18-year-old Chukwuemeka if Sanches is unattainable and are in talks with the Villa starlet’s agent.

The report suggests Barcelona are among the sides interested in the Villa midfielder, with the Premier League club seeking in the region of €20 million.

However, Milan hope that as the Austrian-born Chukwemeka has just one year remaining on his contract and no intention of renewing, they can strike a deal for around €10m, the report adds.

Chukwemeka has made 13 Premier League appearances for Villa over the past two seasons.

He was part of England’s victorious under-19 campaign this summer, scoring three times – including in the 3-1 final win over Israel – and was named in the Team of the Tournament.

5 thought on “CM: Milan to move for Villa star if they fail to land Sanches”
  1. he’s rated highly in englnd, however i thought milan needed a CM who can start in the first xi immediately, this Chukwuemeka is prospect, – so currently not good enough but may be in th future YEARS. He aint no jude bellingham.

Here in englnd thr saying he’s just rejected a new contrct by aston villa, worth £100,000 a week – seems very arrogant – to want more.

  2. Lol. Milan can’t even buy some random Belgian kid and now going to spend 10 million on a unknown Austrian who can’t even get into Aston Villa’s reserves, loooooool. Small little club Ac Milan are. Rubbish directors and 1 scudetto in 14 years. Small club

  3. Good player but wouldn’t play first team football at Milan. One for the future when we could do with one for now.

PS; he’s not unknown to some of us and he can indeed get into Villa’s reserves as he usually plays for the 1st team. Knowledge is power.

  4. That Belgian kid is proper prospect. The times I saw him pñay in Europe for Club Brugge he was impressive. Darwin Nunez came from a lesser league and went for insane money. De Ketelaere has been making an impression for longer and available at a fraction of the price. Good investment for the future and the present.

The English kid was a star at the Euro U19s. Top prospect as well – being courted by the likes of Barca and City.

Whatever you think of Milan‘s strategy to sign younger players the names they are being linked with are top prospects.
