The new Minister for Sport has promised to ‘look into it’ after more details emerged of police and stewards actively helping Inter ultras prevent ordinary fans from watching the Sampdoria game to honour a murdered criminal.

It was during the first half that news spread about the death of 69-year-old Vittorio Boiocchi, a leader of the Curva Nord ultras groups.

He was shot repeatedly in an ambush outside his house in the outskirts of Milan.

In a sign of respect for him, the ultras emptied out the Curva Nord at half-time and took away all their flags and banners too.

However, that wasn’t enough for them and they also pushed out – in some cases forcibly – regular fans who had paid for their tickets and travelled far to watch their beloved Inter play at San Siro.

Numerous protests have emerged on social media from people who say they were manhandled out of the Curva and many were forced to even leave the stadium.

New Minister for Sport Andrea Abodi has promised to “look into it” after an appeal directly to him from social media.

More worrying details are emerging, because while at first it was suggested stewards stood by and did nothing while the ultras harassed men, women and children in the stands, the reality might’ve been even worse.

According to La Repubblica, stewards and police wearing anti-riot gear actively helped the ultras to clear the area, blocking the entrances to other sectors of the stadium if those fans thrown out wanted to continue watching the game.

It means the local authorities meant to keep the peace and security were working with the ultras to throw people out who had paid their tickets, just so one group could ‘honour’ a murdered criminal who spent 26 years of his life in jail for drug trafficking and kidnap.

  1. The ultras in Italy have to much power when they should have none at all. They own nothing! They are not owners of the stadium or the team so they shouldn’t be running anything. They are paying customers like everyone else and nothing more. Full stop!

  2. Leader of Inter fans? Really? Why he was not on the game, when he “loves” Inter so much?
We do not need such a “legend” on our game!
