Atletico Madrid have set up a historic all-Spanish Champions League final against arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Diego Simeone’s side secured their place in the showpiece event after deservedly beating Chelsea 3-1 on the night at Stamford Bridge, and on aggregate.
Following a goalless first leg at the Vicente Calderon, Fernando Torres’ first half strike against his old club initially put the Blues in the driving seat for a place in Lisbon.

However, Jose Mourinho’s team could not hold on until half time as Adrian’s tap-in pulled the Rojiblancos level just before the break.
That put Atleti ahead on away goals and they confirmed their superiority in the second half.
Diego Costa smashed home a penalty after he was fouled in the home box by Samuel Eto’o, before Arda Turan sealed a famous victory for his side by tapping in a rebound after he himself had hit the bar with a header.
The result sets up a first final appearance for the club in Europe’s premier club competition in 40 years. It will also be the first time ever that the competition's two finalists have heralded from the same city.
