Napoli and Romania defender Vlad Chiriches has undergone surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for around six months.
The full-back sustained the injury to his left knee during Romania’s match against Montenegro.
Tests at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome confirmed the extent of the problem, as the ligament had been torn completely.
A note from Napoli announced the surgery went well and Chiriches will remain in the clinic to rest for a couple of days before beginning the rehabilitation process.
